Hey all! I’ve decided to share with you a random day of what I have ate. I think posts like these are really cool as not only does it show my diet but can also give you some healthy meal ideas to make for yourself. 🙂 I always get motivated watching and following along with other peoples workouts and meals so hopefully mine will motivate you too!
Breakfast: 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt with freshly chopped strawberries and blueberries along with two boiled eggs and a green tea.
Lunch: For my lunches, especially at work, I tend to do approximately 3 little snacks every few hours which I consider my lunch. I find eating smaller portions more frequently is really good for my digestion, prevents bloating and feeling full and in general has been said to be a weight loss tip!
So my first snack was a homemade granola bar which the recipe of this is already up on my blog under Sweet Treats. They are called the no-bake nutty bar and are absolutely delicious and packed with many nutritional ingredients.
My second portion was a salad with a boiled egg, spinach, tomato, cucumber, cranberries, strawberries, sunflower seeds, feta and pecans. Honestly delicious! I use a little balsamic vinegar and sometimes lemon juice for the dressing.
My third portion was chopped up watermelon which I tend to crave as it really is super hydrating and full of nutrients for your body. Also just really good and perfect for summer!
Dinner: For dinner I had a bowl of my homemade chili which this recipe is also on my blog and I used half an avocado diced on top. I tend to eat dinner late when I am working as I finish work at 8:00pm and don’t get home until 8:30.
If I find myself still hungry later on or just snackish, I always have some sort of healthy treat that I could have. I have made healthy scones, cookies and I will allow myself one at night with a cup of tea. I do recommend allowing yourself something small when you are wanting it as it helps keep the cravings under control and at the end of the day, life is too short. Just a tip, make your own treats, this way they are guaranteed to be more healthy (pinterest is a great place to find healthier alternatives) and you can enjoy it without feeling guilty.
Some of you may already know from my earlier posts that I practice veganism every so often, normally it is when I am back at University and do my own grocery shopping. Right now I am home for summer and have the luxury of getting my groceries by my parents, however it makes it a little more difficult to be vegan this way. Anyway, I will upload another post just like this one but it will be a vegan edition. That way for those of you who may be interested in trying a vegan lifestyle, this will help you and give you some ideas. Following a vegan lifestyle is easier than you think and is not at all bad or limiting! Speaking from experience! 🙂
