I think we have all been familiar with those days when we wake up and are feeling a little sluggish and quite frankly not looking our best self. At these points I feel like I need a pick me up or just a complete makeover.
I have found a few things that help me feel replenished and get back to feeling like I can tackle the day ahead, instead of avoid the outside world completely.
My first tip;
Shower and wash your face. Showering is always a great way to wake me up and I make sure, especially on days like these, to use my favorite shower washes that smell extra good! This way while I make my way through the day I get occasional whiffs of my shower gel and I just feel replenished and clean. Since your already in the shower, may as well use this time to get rid of any unwanted body hair. That way after the shower you can lotion and feel really sleek and shiny.
Use moisturizing products. If I have time, I will put on a facemask and any eye creams that help to moisturize and replenish my face. The more moisturized my body is, the more awake I feel and the more confident.
Do your makeup. I am never one to use heavy makeup nor do I wear makeup every day but I do enjoy wearing makeup to give myself a pick me up and to feel more confident. Especially when the old blemishes appear, covering them up and brightening my eyes with some good eyeliner and mascara, I almost instantly feel like my regular self again.
Pick a nice outfit for the day. Look how you want to feel. I will choose one of my best looking outfits and one that I feel comfortable in as well. How I see myself in the mirror determines a lot about my confidence level. The more effort I put into looking good, the more confident I feel. This goes with any accessories that you think makes you look even better and my nails being painted with no chips is a biggie for me!
Avoid unhealthy foods or foods that take a while to digest. Foods like breads, cheese, unhealthy snacks are all only going to make you feel worse and bloated! This you do not want when you are already not feeling your best. Fruits and vegetables are the way to go today, I really enjoy making smoothies!
