What I Am Doing to Prepare for the Coming School Year

I feel like I have blinked and summer flew by. I was recently talking to one of my friends and they said the same thing. I honestly feel like this has been the fastest summer of my entire life, I hope because I am getting older it doesn’t mean this is how everything is going to begin to seem, flying by!

Anyway, it now means to start basing blog posts on returning back to school! Don’t worry, the summer posts are not over yet, I cant push summer out quite yet.

It is always important to be prepared and organized and there are always a few things you can do before starting school. Here are some things I do:

Create a shopping list

I go to University and I am in charge of getting my own groceries, necessities and supplies. Therefore to avoid over spending on unnecessary things as well as making sure I am organized and get everything I need, I make grocery lists, lists of school supplies I need and any other products I need. I do this in advance because I begin to think about meal prep and what meals I want to cook for my first few weeks, as well as the obvious school supplies I will need during the school year. I use the notes app on my iPhone to record my lists and I add or change as time goes along.

Buy a planner

I actually bought a really good planner near the beginning of this summer which will carry over until I graduate. I am a huge list maker, planner and organizer but even if you are not, a planner is crucial to record homework, tasks, reminders and make plans such as meal prep and with friends. Buy one that works best for you and how you like to stay organized. Maybe you like a lot of color so buy colored pens and decorate!

Organize your class schedule

We all have to pick our classes and in University we have more options into planning our schedule and classes but my organizing I mean making a schedule. Every year I create a timetable, use colors, and decorate it how I like. I make multiple copies, I give one to my parents so they know my school times, I have one in my planner and one in my apartment. Having it custom made with colors or whatever I chose just makes me feel better and organized.

This was my schedule in first year of University:

Let me know of anything you always do to prepare for school in the comments! 🙂 I hope you all enjoyed the post, talk again soon!
