For those of you heading back to University and either live in an apartment, town house or residence where you have your own kitchen and are responsible for your own meals, you may find it very useful to make your own grocery list.
Making a grocery lists allows you to save more money as you know what you are to get and can stay within that list, avoiding extra unnecessary buys and spending of money. We all know how easy it is to spend money whilst in school so the more we can save the better! Also if you are one who likes to meal prep, then making a grocery list will for sure be helpful. Maybe a list for each week, that way you have everything you need to do your meal prep and remain healthy.
I normally use the Notes app on my iPhone or just write out a list.
Organize your grocery list to how you like.
You can do a weekly list or every two weeks.
Another good thing with making lists is when you run out of foods you can put them down and that way you wont forget a lot of the things you need.
As for the first week heading back to school, that initial grocery shop has always been the largest for me, obviously because the fridge and pantry is completely empty from summer so I do tend to have a larger list for the initial shop.
Without further adieu here is my grocery list for when I get back to University:
2 peaches, 2 plums, 2 apples, 2 mangos, 2 oranges, red grapes, bananas, lemon, strawberries, blueberries
Kale, spinach, 3 tomatoes, 3 avocados, cucumber, pumpkin, squash, frozen broccoli, frozen peas, frozen green beans, carrots, celery, red pepper, onion
0% plain Greek yogurt, 2 dozen eggs
Peanut butter, plain almonds, dried cranberries, quinoa, black beans, red beans, chick peas
Olive oil, black pepper, minced garlic
Plain almond milk, chocolate almond milk
Laundry detergent pods, shampoo and conditioner, body wash
I find this list is a good start for having all the necessities and things I enjoy and use to make meals. I hope this gives ideas to some of you and helps with your own shopping! Talk again soon 🙂
