This is clearly not a blogmas post but I did a lot of new and exciting things today, some are Christmas related but some of the things surround some personal goals of mine and I kind of felt like documenting the day and sharing it on here.
For awhile now I have been really wanting to take a class with an instructor for Yoga. I even have it listed in a bucket list I made for the things I want to do before I graduate University, which can be found in a past blog post. I have done many online videos of Yoga in my bedroom but I always wanted to take it a step further.
So today, I went to the gym in the morning like I normally do and there is a board that lists classes that are occurring on what days and at what time. I saw a Yoga one at 10:30 am for this morning and I asked my friend to come along and we both LOVED it!
I am soo happy I went and as I knew all along, that I would really enjoy a yoga class with an instructor and other people who care about yoga and its health benefits as I do. It was incredibly calming and as many yoga instructors and participants will tell you, it really allows you to connect with parts of your body that you haven’t before, reach an ultimate relaxation and to feel grounded where you are and with what you are doing.
The session today contained a lot of strength training as well, we used multiple muscle groups, but don’t let that put you off. It is not a strenuous exercise, it is for relaxation and for every move and position there are alternatives and you choose what your body feels most comfortable doing.

I have never done this before, and have heard that isn’t necessarily for beginners but I tried it with help from the instructor and got it my first time and it was just an amazing feeling! Its incredible to see what your own body can do, and pushing yourself by looking at things as an experience and positivity instead of with fear. For about 20 minutes after the class, my friend and I were still talking about how amazing it was haha!
I really recommend if you are interested in taking a yoga class or starting yoga but haven’t yet, really sign up for a class available near to you or even a starter video in your bedroom. It is a treat for your body and taking out time to be grateful and give your body the ultimate relaxation it needs!
So that is one incredible thing that happened today. Also being as I did my usual workout in the morning which was actually really intense, it included 15 minutes on the treadmill, 10 minutes of that was running and then a 20 minute workout video which I got from Pop sugar fitness YouTube page (I really recommend them for any type of workouts), I got myself a berry protein smoothie. It was relish!
So the second part of today that was really nice and a good experience was my friend and I attended a Christmas open market downtown to where we live. It was super cute with many different types of vendors including handmade clothing, art, baked goods and promotion of businesses. I got to talk to some people and learn about a few things and overall it was a really great experience. Here are a few pics of the market:
We tasted two different flavours of the raw honey, cinnamon and a chocolate, orange honey and they were both so delicious!
I finished off the day with cooking a pot of barley soup to last me for the week. Its beginning to get cold now, so that is definitely what I will be looking forward to every night.
