Small Decor Touches

Hey guys,

In a recent post I stated some goals I had while being back at home in Bermuda and one of these goals is to organize and redecorate my bedroom.

I really wanted to create a space that I could feel happy, productive and relaxed when going to and I recently bought some small decor items which I absolutely love.

For those of you who have been reading my posts for awhile you will also know I have taken up yoga a lot more and over Christmas I received a yoga mat from my parents. In my bedroom I have a little nook area between two closets and used this area to create a place where I can do yoga, meditation or any mindful minutes.

Yoga and mindful minutes are two things that I have introduced within my weekly routines quite recently andย have been such important additions. If you are the type of person to get stressed easily, overwhelmed or just crave the feeling of stopping and just doing absolutely nothing to clear your mind, I really would suggest downloading a yoga or meditation app. Even if you do manage stress and emotions well, I would still encourage you to try yoga and mediation, they are really healthy activities for your mind and body. This space is going to be put to some great use. ๐Ÿ™‚

I wanted to get some flowers and plants to brighten up my room and I am still on the lookout for either green hanging indoor plants or some sort of succulent plants. What I did purchase were some really pretty and artificial white roses. I absolutely love them, they brighten up my room and make the space more positive.

My other favourite purchase is a glass base jar that has copper wire with blue fairy lights strung inside and I don’t know if I have ever mentioned, but I really love fairy lights as a decoration. They instantly make a space cozy and homey and I have some white snowflake fairy lights hung above my bed as well.

The space where I put the fairy light jar and the roses looks like this:

This furniture piece was given to me from a close friend who moved away and I went out and purchased more of the cloth drawers and I am using them to store bath bombs and salts in one, lotions and perfumes in another, different products and makeup in the others and it is a really great use for storage.

I am really pleased with the space so far. I am planning to build some storage of some sort around my desk or decorate the surrounding desk area with photo frames and pictures to make a productive and satisfying space to come home to. Graduation is just around the corner from me and if I end up back home right after, it is more exciting to come home to a newly decorated space. Positive change is good change.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and if any of you are enjoying a break/vacation this week, share in the comments some things you are or planning on doing to enjoy it. I am really interested!

Bye for now ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Really cute– love all the little accents and touches. I need to get back on the yoga train. For some reason, I could just never get into it consistently. I get so impatient, but I definitely see the benefits. Any tips would be helpful. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. Aw yeah for sure, what I found works for me is setting actual time for yoga in my planner, I actually have it scheduled every Thursday but obviously I can do it whenever I please. So definitely putting scheduled time aside may help stay more consistent! ๐Ÿ™‚
